Dr. Benny Xu has been actively involved in the development of acupuncture in Alberta since 1992, and was a key member in lobbying TCM regulations from 2002-2006.

In 2002, Dr. Xu led the Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine to form an exclusive partnership on which programs were established on all levels, ranging from certificate programs to graduate programs.

In 2005, Dr. Xu was honoured with the Alberta Centennial Medal for his significant contribution in TCM and Acupuncture education in Alberta.

Dr. Xu has served as a member of Acupuncture Committee; President of the Alberta Association of Acupuncturists and Chinese Medical Doctors; Vice President of Alberta Traditional Chinese Medical Science & Acupuncture Association; Dr. Xu is currently on the Advisory Committee of the Mount Royal University Integrated Health Institute, Advisory Board of the Beijing University of Chinese medicine, and is the President of Alberta College of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine.
